oysters

No 6? Should be No 1!

I have to admit whenever I eat out I find myself taking notes and admiring the handy work of the professionals. Today is a throw back to a couple of weeks ago where I had wonderful lunch date with a very dear friend at No. 6 in Padstow.

Paul Ainsworth has worked his magic along with his fabulous team to pull together a menu that will leave you seechless and staff that will make your day.

I highly recommend to everyone to try their fresh fish dishes.
I started with beautiful boystersaked oysters topped with a very thin slice of cured pork, it was exceptional! Presented beautifully on a bed of stones and seaweed, your mind could not conjour up anything more cornish fresh.

For main I indulged in a beautiful cod dish with fresh local Padstow crab with a crab bisque. By this point I was beginning to get full and most of it was from excitement.

For my pallet cleanser, sadly I had vinegar because for the life of me, I could not shake the hiccups I had. Kudos to the waitress who bought me a small shot of vinegar without question or strange looks!

I know what you’re thinking, nothing could top this wonderous feast I’d demolished myself into a food coma with? Well just wait for the dessert. We were spoilt with this cute popcorn trolly dislaying delightful sweet treats. Homemade raspberry donuts, chocolate moose, nougat top with yumminess and my favourite… popcorn topped heaven.

There is no questioning why they are always so busy and why people walk out smiling. I highly recommend visit whether it be for lunch or dinner. You will not be able to stay away…

Check it out and for the love of god please get something from the dessert menu!

I’m off to dream once again of that wonderous lunch :)
